The books selected represent current leadership literature and scholarship and draw from a review of approximately 5,500 books.


To reduce the number of books to a workable size, the following criteria, or grid, has been employed:

  • The authors/editor will have written at least one book on leadership within the past five years.
  • To guarantee a high level of scholarship, where possible, the author will have earned a Ph.D.
  • The author/editor will have produced recognized leaders.
  • He will have worked both nationally and internationally in the field of leadership.
  • He will be recognized, by his peers, as an expert in the field of leadership.
  • In areas where values and worldview are discussed, the authors/editors chosen write from the historic, Judeo-Christian religion.
