HAITI RELIEF
A number of CCBF members are closely connected to Haiti and are dealing with the aftermath of the earthquake;
CRWRC www.crwrc.org has as of this writing raised over $3,000,000.00 in Canada (Ken Little at Carpenteros Valentine Haiti Dinner February 13, 2010) and with matched funding by the Canadian Government this amount doubles. There undoubtedly will be ample opportunity for Christian business entrepreneurs to put their expertise to work in this devastated country. As was pointed out, at the February 13 Carpentero Dinner in Dundas, volunteers needed now are structural engineers.
Frequent Smithville and Grimsby CCBF Breakfast participant John Kottelenberg in addition to recently becoming Development Director of Shalom Manor Foundation is also the Managing Director of Coram Deo International Aid www.cdiacanada.com This is a Christian charitable organization which seeks to provide education and medical aid to needy people in Haiti, witnessing to them the love of God and the truth of His Word. John was in Haiti when the earthquake struck and now heads the Disaster Relief Action Committee (DRAC) to handle the planning, day to day operations, communication and decision making for the disaster relief efforts for the people of Haiti. There will be specific emphasis on, but not limited to, helping those in the Delmas area of Port au Prince where we have been involved in the community up to date. For the immediate term, disaster relief funds will be used for food, water, medical and housing needs of the CDIA team on the ground in Haiti and for the people in the area of Port au Prince that the organization serves. Funds will also be used to support the staff of the families of Adoration Christian Center and members of the First Presbyterian Church. In the longer term, disaster relief funds will be used, the Lord willing, for the long term restoration and rebuilding of the Adoration Christian Center. On Saturday February 20 there will be a “Massive Garage & Bake Sale at Calvin Christian School, Ofield Road, Dundas to raise funds for this cause jdvkruk@aol.com
Ample opportunity to let your light shine with your support through your skills or finances.

COMPANY (a chartered commercial organization or medieval trade guild) probably describes 99% of CCBF business members. MEDA’s Marketplace Editor Wally Kroeker, quoting The Economist observes, “company is derived from the Latin “cum” and “pane” – meaning “breaking bread together” That is part of what happens at the monthly CCBF Chapter meetings, be they a breakfast or lunch
