He is a very committed young man and wants so badly to be a carpenter. My name is Frank Galea. (416-395-7727) I am with the Catholic Children's Aid Society and would like some advice regarding employment opportunities with a Christian Contractor, or carpenter for a young man I am working with.   He comes from a rather tragic set of circumstances and inspight of this he has done quite well.   This young man has been in care since he was 4 years old and is now eighteen.  The reason I am approaching a Christian Organization (Contractor or carpenter) is because I feel he will be treated fairly, with decency,  respect  and would  have an opportunity to be mentored.  He is registered with the Ministry as a carpenter's apprentice.  He completed high school in 2009,  has completed a 12 week basic carpentry program at the Carpenters Union,  which is under the auspices of the Ministry Of Trades Colleges and Universities.  The program consisted of blue print reading, framing, joining, form work, base board installation, creating dovetail joints, , fly forming , installation of eye beams, railings, electrical wiring , conduit installation etc.  He has a H&S certificate in fall protection, hoisting and rigging and WHIM'S.  He is a very committed young man and wants so badly to be a carpenter.  This is illustrated by the fact that he had to travel from the lakeshore in Toronto to Woodbridge.  This required him to take public transit at 6:30 am to attend the program for 8:30 am.  He has had several short term contracts assisting a housebuilder with masonry, cobblestone laying, interior painting and basic maintenance.
